In PEOPLE’s 2023 Beautiful Issue, Selma Blair sent a heartfelt open letter to her younger self.

50-year-old Blair, along with fellow actresses Eva Longoria, Rosario Dawson, Christina Ricci, and Jessica Williams, wrote a letter to her younger self, filled with advice and support.

Actress from “The Ordinary World” penned:

I understand your anxiety about entering adulthood. You worry that you won’t have the skills necessary to function as an adult, but you’ll be fine. Don’t stress out so much about what might happen.

“This picture of you at this age, taken with REO Speedwagon playing in the background, brings back such fond memories,” she said.

That inexplicable element baffled your reasoning. That’s what we’re banking on. Replace your worry with optimism. Proceed with the text. Be a daily writer. Have faith in yourself. Just be honest. Observe. Things are looking up. And dreadful events. You’ll have to go through all of that to find your footing and keep going. You deserve to be loved.
