Ashton Kutcher has been in the limelight since That 70’s Show in 1998. He soon became a household name and we all watched him grow into the successful actor and fine man that he is.
All the people who have kept a track of all his looks can surely agree that Kutcher did age like a fine wine. However, after a certain Super Bowl commercial in 2021, a lot of fans have speculated about Ashton having gone under the knife.
Read ahead to know all about the contemplations and Ashton’s reply to his plastic surgery rumors.
The start of surgery rumors
Kutcher wasn’t seen in many film projects in 2020 after the wrap-up of his Netflix series The Ranch in the same year.
However, in February 2021, he appeared in a hilarious Super Bowl commercial alongside his wife, Mila Kunis. Although the commercial was widely liked by the viewers, a lot of fans couldn’t help but comment about Ashton’s changed appearance.
“I can’t remember what the Ashton Kutcher commercial was for because my wife and I were too busy discussing what specific plastic surgery he had done,” one Twitter user tweeted at the time.
“Did Ashton Kutcher have plastic surgery? Dude lookin’ different,” another chimed in.
Various guesses had been made about Kutcher getting surgeries done and fans were curious to know whether the assumptions were true or not. Read ahead to know what Ashton had to say about the stories.
Ashton’s reaction to plastic surgery rumors
Kutcher did not directly address any of his surgery rumors. He did not even acknowledge them. However, he did open up about having battled with the autoimmune disorder vasculitis for over one year.
During his appearance on Running Wild: The Challenge in August 2022, he said, “Like, two years ago, I had this weird, super rare form of vasculitis that, like, knocked out my vision, it knocked out my hearing, it knocked out, like, all my equilibrium.”
Vasculitis is an inflammation of the blood vessels, which can potentially cause a thickening of the vessels and subsequently restrict blood flow, resulting in damaging organs and tissues, as the Mayo Clinic describes it.
The actor shared how it took him over a year to build back his lost senses and how he learned to truly appreciate them.
“You don’t really appreciate it until it’s gone,” he added. “Until you go, ‘I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to see again, I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to hear again, I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to walk again.’”
He further added, “The minute you start seeing your obstacles as things that are made for you, to give you what you need, then life starts to get fun, right? You start surfing on top of your problems instead of living underneath them.”
He took time off to heal and laid low for a couple of years. Now Kutcher looks like he is doing well and has overcome his battle.
Since Kutcher has maintained his silence over surgery rumors but opened up about his health issues, it is safe to say that probably his changed appearance is due to his medical condition.
Either way, the actor continues to shine and win the hearts of many.
