What’s the Plot of The Cleaning Lady Season 2?
In the character drama The Cleaning Lady, a quick-witted Cambodian doctor named Thony travels to the US for treatment in order to save her sick son Luca.
Thony is forced to care for her son on her own since Marco, who has a gambling addiction and is unable to secure a visa, has been diagnosed with a life-threatening immunodeficiency illness.
Thony used to have it all: a flourishing medical career, a devoted husband, and a large family. Now, though, she’s waiting in Las Vegas with her sister-in-law Fiona (Martha Millan, The OA) for a bone marrow match for her brother-in-law Luca while also working as an undocumented worker to make ends meet.
“However, she refuses to be broken down and marginalized when the system falls short and forces her into hiding. Instead, she ends up working as a cleaning girl for a large criminal organization thanks to a chance encounter with Arman Morales (Adan Canto, Designated Survivor, The Following).
Thony enters a world of moral ambiguity and starts leading a double life while cleaning crime scenes for Arman and eluding the law, especially the slick-talking FBI agent Garrett Miller who is after her.
Thony uses her wits and skill to carve out a niche for herself in the criminal underworld and does whatever it takes to save Luca, even if it means sacrificing her own soul.
