You all are aware that “Me at the zoo” was the first video that was uploaded on Youtube, right? But what if I say that there is another video that was posted by a channel, isn’t it surprising?

On Thursday, January 26, @MiniWheatDuo shared a tweet, which reads: “A video OLDER THAN “Me at the zoo” has been found on YouTube holy sh*t.”

The 48-second video titled “Welcome to YouTube!!!,” featuring Chad, Steve, and Jawed, was premiered on April 6, 2005, according to the description of the video. Within just a few minutes of the breaking news, people hurried to inspect the video’s details

Interestingly, a lot of questions were popping out that the video was fake as there were some signs that helped in proving it.

The video resolution was up to 480p, although YouTube didn’t release 480p video until 2008. Furthermore, the video is listed as having “premiered” in 2005, and live streaming was first officially added to the service in 2011.

Aside from that, the stats of the channel enn, from where the video was uploaded, reveal that the channel’s joining date was on September 4, 2005, which was five months after the claimed upload date.

After a quick investigation, it was officially proved that the video was fake and the actual upload date of the video was on January 25, 2023. However, the reason for this prank remained a mystery.

Thus, the first video to be uploaded to YouTube is “Me at the Zoo.” The 19-second video shows YouTube co-founder Jawed Karim, who was 25 at the time, standing in front of two elephants at the San Diego Zoo in California.
