What happened to the actor?
Ironically enough when filming his show Limitless on Disney Hotstar Hemsworth discovered that even he, a superhero, has his own limitations.
On the fifth episode of his show, “Memory,” Hemsworth received the dismal health update. His results revealed that he is 8 to 10 times more likely to develop Alzheimer’s.
In the episode, the actor had blood tests done to determine how he may enhance his health, but the expert Peter Attia gave him some unexpected news.
After undergoing a number of genetic tests, the actor learned that he carries two copies of the APOE4 gene, which raises the likelihood that he will develop Alzheimer’s disease.
However the actor claimed that due to his family history, the shocking information did not fully come as a surprise to him.
His grandfather who has Alzheimer’s disease occasionally slips in and out of the Dutch language which is his native tongue.
Why has he decided to take the hiatus now?
The Marvel actor explained that while filming Limitless, and in particular an episode on death and facing your own mortality led him to temporarily put his Hollywood career on hold and want to spend more time with his family.
He mentioned that his next step was to sit back and relax. He wants to take a break from the schedule of his hectic career and spend sometime with his wife and kids.
He mentioned in an interview that he didn’t want to regret not spending time with his kids after waiting until they were 18 and out of the house to finally interact with them properly.
He also made it clear that this was not the end of his acting career but a much needed realisation that he needed to take a portion of time off to spend with his family.
