Lawyer Joelle Rich, who defended Johnny Depp in his UK libel trial against the Sun, is now Johnny Depp’s girlfriend.
The London-based attorney is reportedly married but separated, and her divorce may not yet be legally binding.
Depp, 59, ignited romance rumours earlier this summer with Camille Vasquez, another lawyer who defended Johnny in his successful US defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Vasquez promptly put an end to the rumours, calling them “sexist” and “unethical.”
She told People in June, “I care very deeply for my clients, and we have obviously gotten close. However, I am referring to the entire team, which of course includes Johnny, when I say “we.”
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor had been Vasquez’s buddy and client for four and a half years, she said.
In addition, an unethical accusation is being made. It is sexist, she continued. Although it’s awful and frustrating, it also sort of goes with the territory. I wouldn’t say that I was very surprised.
Rich was reportedly present in the courtroom even though she was not one of the attorneys who worked on the US case.
The mother-of-two British attorney was in Virginia to “support” the Oscar nominee, according to Us Weekly.
A source also told the publication that Rich and Depp would “discreetly” meet up at hotels at the beginning of their relationship because “there was no professional requirement for her to be there.”
When the relationship started is a mystery. Depp’s representatives were not available for comment.
Along with Heard, a couple of the “Edward Scissorhands” actor’s ex-girlfriends attended the slander trial.
On May 25, Kate Moss showed up as a defence witness for Depp.
In a virtual testimony, the supermodel who dated “Cry Baby” star Johnny Depp from 1994 to 1998 refuted claims that he shoved her down a flight of stairs while they were dating.
Ellen Barkin, who is backing Heard, 36, meanwhile, testified that Depp has a history of violence and once hurled a bottle of wine at her.
Depp’s unsuccessful 2020 lawsuit against the Sun also included a statement from Barkin, who had a brief relationship with the actor in 1994.
