And everything was running smoothly. According to reports, the third season of The Witcher on Netflix has been put on hold because the main actor Henry Cavill has COVID.
Redanian Intelligence claimed that the third season of The Witcher was supposed to start filming earlier this week, but that abruptly came to an end when Cavill tested positive for the terrible virus.
According to reports, the cast and crew of The Witcher Season 3 were prepared to begin filming a significant fight scene, the Thanedd coup, which should be recognizable to anyone who has read the source material.
The majority of the main cast, including Henry Cavill, is expected to be included in the scene, and it cannot be filmed without the lead actor. Production has therefore been halted while Cavill gets better. Hope everything is good with the actor and that he may soon resume killing monsters.
The Witcher has seen coronavirus outbreaks in the past as well. In addition, The Witcher Season 2’s production was abruptly stopped in 2020, delaying the season’s release until December 2021.
August marked the beginning of The Witcher Season 3’s final month of production, although Netflix has yet to announce a release date for the next third season. We can only hope that this delay won’t have a significant impact.
Henry Cavill is back as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher: Season 3
As Geralt of Rivia, a mutant monster hunter who struggles to find his place in a world where people frequently prove to be more wicked than creatures, Henry Cavill, actor of Man of Steel, makes his television debut in the first season of The Witcher, which debuted back in 2019.
The Witcher is a video game based on the same-named book series by Andrzej Sapkowski, and it takes place on a made-up continent with medieval influences called “the Continent.” The Witcher examines the fable of prince Geralt and princess Ciri, who are destined to meet.

Since its premiere, Henry Cavill’s portrayal of Geralt in The Witcher has garnered a tonne of acclaim from audiences. The monster hunter brings Princess Cirilla to Kaer Morhen, the safest area he is aware of, for a second season, which debuted last year.
The third season of The Witcher’s official synopsis teases what’s to come, saying, “As monarchs, magicians, and animals of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to defend his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it,”
They find they have landed in a battleground of political corruption, dark magic, and betrayal after Yennefer, who is intrigued by Ciri’s magical training, brings them to Aretuza, a citadel that has been guarded by a dragon. They are forced to respond and risk all to save their relationship.
The Witcher Season 3 will once again make its Netflix debut. It was created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, and Anya Chalotra.

When will season three of The Witcher be available?
There is no official release date yet, so keep checking back. While The Witcher’s second season debuted on Netflix on December 17, 2021, season one of The Witcher was published in December 2019. Therefore, if the trend continues, December 2023 may be in the cards. Agh.
There is always a chance that season three will premiere early because Covid delays may have contributed to S2’s lateness.
