Saturday Night Live’s December 10 episode began with a Christmas song. The cast members Cecily Strong, Kenan Thompson, Bowen Yang, Sarah Sherman, and Ego Nwodim performed the new song “It’s Christmas,” in which Elon Musk and Kanye West were addressed.

“Only Murders in the Building” co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short ambled onto the Studio 8H stage last night to host Saturday Night Live.

Some lyrics are: “Why does Elon have so much stuff?” Why must he manage Tesla and Twitter? Was outer space insufficient?”

“And Hitler? When did Hitler return? We all agreed three years ago that Hitler should never return.

Why are his new admirers of color? Thompson added.

The December 10 episode was Martin’s sixteenth time hosting the sketch-comedy show, second only to Alec Baldwin’s seventeen, and Short’s third, a fact Martin was quick to point out to his friend.

Former cast members of Saturday Night Live and current co-stars of Only Murders in the Building, the pair poked fun at one other before Short said, “You know, Steve, we’re like Harry and Meghan: no one is cheering for us, but you’ll watch anyhow.”

He then provided a novel description of their renowned Hulu series, making Martin chuckle: “Our program is like Steve at the urinal: it streams for 32 minutes.”

Obviously, it would not be the end of the story. Martin and Short recited the eulogies they had penned for one another over horribly sorrowful music.

Martin shouted, “Wow, that’s a little turnout!” “Marty did not desire cremation. Impossible! But Marty’s dying words will always haunt me: “Tesla autopilot engage!”

“I could say so many wonderful things about Steve Martin… “anyway, this seems neither the time nor the place,” suggested Short. “Howdy, Steve! You lackluster, overrated, white-haired son of a whore! Where did you go? “I believe Steve is currently gazing down on us because he always looked down on everyone.”

Martin mused aloud, “Now that Marty is gone, with whom will I ever work?”

Selena Gomez answered, “What about me?” as she emerged from the shadows and joined her fellow Only Murders actors.
