Season 3 of Euphoria was announced midway through the second season, thus the main concern for viewers was the show’s quality, not its future.
“Sam, Zendaya, and the whole cast and crew of Euphoria have elevated season two to extraordinary heights, pushing narrative convention and form while preserving its heart,” said Francesca Orsi, Vice President of HBO programming in a statement.
“We couldn’t be more honoured to work with such a gifted and incredibly talented group, and we’re looking forward to continuing our journey with them into season three.”
So, what awaits fans eager to return to America’s best/worst high school? Is this Euphoria’s final season? Hopefully not, since more memes of Sydney Sweeney giving us innumerable Emmy-worthy moments are desperately needed.

When is the Euphoria season 3 release date?
We don’t yet know when Euphoria season 3 will premiere. However, Zendaya liked a fan tweet saying, “tomorrow really is the last episode of euphoria until 2024 huh:(” prior of the season 2 finale showing. To put it another way, it looks like we’ll have to wait another two years for the show to return.
As of now, it’s unclear why filming is taking so long, but it’s most likely owing to Zendaya and the rest of the cast’s hectic schedules outside of the show. This year, Zendaya will star in Dune: Part Two, as well as a number of other projects.
Because of the coronavirus epidemic, Euphoria season 2 premiered two and a half years after season 1. There were two Euphoria specials between seasons 1 and 2 due to the delays. Nothing has been confirmed, however it’s possible that special episodes will be released in 2023.
Eric Dan has also informed Variety that he believes season 3 will begin filming in November of current year. “I just saw something that said 2024, which makes sense,” he remarked. We’ll probably go back and shoot in November.”
Cast of Euphoria Season 3:
Hunter Schafer (Jules), Jacob Elordi (Nate), Alexa Demie (Maddy), Barbie Ferreira (Kat), Algee Smith (Chris), Sydney Sweeney (Cassie), Maude Apatow (Lexi) and newcomer Dominic Fike will all return as Rue (Elliot).
Of course, Zendaya’s appearance in season three was a foregone conclusion (despite those pesky death rumours). Casey Bloys, HBO’s Chief Content Officer, recently told TVLine that “she’ll be in season three – it’s hard to fathom doing [the] programme without her.”
Angus Cloud, a crucial cast member, may not return. Fez was detained by the cops at the end of season two when Ashtray inadvertently shot him during a hazardous police interaction.
Given the overwhelming evidence against Fez, we don’t think he’ll be able to get out of prison anytime soon, though he might show up if other characters pay him a visit (or perhaps the program’s hallucinogenic montages will bring him back for a while).
Fez’s younger brother, Ashtray, is one character who is even less likely to return.
Although we didn’t see a body in the aforementioned gunfight, it’s likely because Javon Walton’s character died offscreen due to the fact that he’s a youngster, not because of any larger mystery surrounding his death.
There’s also a possibility that Zendaya’s boyfriend, Tom Holland, will make an appearance.
According to Buzzfeed News, the Man Known As Spidey even visited the set during the filming of season two, and Zendaya has subsequently confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that a cameo has been discussed.
What will happen in Season 3 of Euphoria?
After the heartbreaking season two finale, we’re left with a slew of unanswered questions. If you need a refresher, here’s a quick rundown: Nate confronts his father, Cal, and reveals that he has a USB disc containing all of the footage from his father’s sexual relationships; Cassie and Maddy had a major brawl during Lexi’s hilarious school play, but appear to be on the mend; and Rue appears to have forgiven Jules for informing her mother about her drug addiction. It’s anyone’s guess how these circumstances will play out in season three (surely Cassie won’t forgive Lexi for her behaviour, right? ), but one thing we’re wondering about is if Nate’s brother (who features in the series’ family photographs) will make an appearance.
Similarly, we’re curious if we’ll ever learn what happened to Cal’s friendship with Derek, his love interest. That is, if Cal makes an appearance in season three…
The biggest unknown is whether Fez (Angus Cloud), who was incarcerated at the end of season two after being unintentionally shot by Ashtray, survives and returns in season three. Fans of the sitcom will recall that Ashtray died too soon at the end of season two after shooting at the cops, despite Fez’s attempts to absolve him of his crime.
Is there a trailer for the third season of Euphoria?

No, and you won’t see one for a long time. If Season 3 is released in early 2023, we don’t expect to see a teaser until late 2022 or early 2023.
