The protagonist of the Pokémon series, Ash Ketchum finally becomes the greatest Pokémon trainer after 25 years.
The 10-year-old ash achieved this milestone during the latest episode of “Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series” aired in Japan today. The duo wins the Masters Eight Tournament of the Pokemon World Coronation Series by defeating Leon.
The Pokémon Globe Coronation Series is an worldwide tournament that brings together the very finest trainers from all around the world, including winners from past years like as Iris, Steven, and Lance.
Ash’s success was a team effort as other than Pikachu, his every team member played their part in winning the title inlcuding Dracovish, Gengar, Sirfetch’d, Lucario, and Dragonite.
Although, the 10-year-old Ash did not do well during the competitions, this victory was somewhat a historic one for him. In fact, up until this year, he had never succeeded in becoming a Pokémon League champion in any of his tries. His losing streak ended in 2019, however, when he beat Gladion in the Manalo Conference and won the title of Champion of Alola.
Prior to that, however, Ash had endured championship loss after championship loss, all the way back to his first run in the Indigo League arc, where he only finished in the top 16.
With a new Pokémon game coming out next week, we may expect Ash to make his way to the Paldea region and tackle that league. He’s also previously voiced a goal to, you know, “get ’em all,” but given how far behind he is now that the total number of Pokémon is approaching 1000, this seems an improbable achievement for him to accomplish.
Fans will have to wait until the full episode is released in English. The episode just aired in Japan, and it will air “sometime in the future” everywhere else.
Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series is streaming only on Netflix in the US.
