Who is Kate Gosselin?
Kate Gosselin became well-known because of the reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8, which followed her lives with her then-husband Jon Gosselin and their eight kids.
Following the couple’s divorce in 2010, TLC changed the program’s name to Kate Plus 8.
In 2016, when Kate sent Collin away to be institutionalised this decision faced a lot of controversy when it was later revealed that her ex-husband Jon had no idea of his whereabouts.
After Kate and her attorney failed to appear at a custody hearing in December 2018, Jon was awarded full custody of Collin. Kate had requested a postponement of the hearing, but she was rejected.

Collin Gosselin was only 12 years old when he was institutionalised by his mother who had sent him there under the pre-tense of learning skills for his ‘special needs’.
In the interview, he talks about how he spent his 13th and 14th birthday in the institution.
He eventually ended up writing a note to his father, Jon Gosselin about being in a dark place mentally begging his dad to get him out of there.
He also mentions that the relationship between him and his mom was already distraught and once she institutionalised him it became practically nonexistent.
