She was friends with the country music singer, Tammy Wynette, the beloved wife of George Richey(1978 to 1981). She was very fond of Tammy and they both shared a very special and were not just friends but sisters.

Sheila Richey was Dallas Cowboys cheerleader for two seasons in 1987 and 1988.
Coming from Madisonville, Texas, Sheila always wanted to be a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. She also had a hidden interest in working in show business. She went to the University of North Texas in Denton and KD Studios in Dallas to study acting and performance and there she grew a keen interest in working behind the scenes of the shows.

Late George Richey was a father to three daughters from his first two marriages. His first two daughters, Kelly and Diedre, he shared with his first woman, Dorothy Ann Tippit. Richey and Tippit had married in 1953, decoupling 16 years later, in 1969.

George and Sheila Richey gave birth to called Tatum Richey on September 2001. She presently rides for Baylor University’s equestrian team.

Each year, on the anniversary of Tammy Wynette’s death, Sheila Richey has paid homage to the late singer. Her social media posts devoted to Wynette reveal that the pair were musketeers.
“ She welcomed me into her life with a neighborly love like I hadn’t known before,” Sheila wrote on her friend’s death anniversary.
“While I’ve always had the topmost of musketeers, Tammy and I shared a special bond that God created for His plans and purpose. ”
Another year, Sheila Richey wrote “ No one ever stood up for me, guarded our fellowship, and loved me as Tammy did! She was my angel on earth and I’ll always be hers. ”
George & Tammy, which premiered on December 4, 2022, explores the strongly creative musical and romantic cooperation between George Jones and Tammy Wynette and the entry of Sheila. Grounded on their son’s bio, George & Tammy introduces audiences to the couple responsible for successes similar to Stand By Your Man and D I- V- O- R- C-E.
An official statement was released regarding the show by the George Richey Estate on the day George & Tammy premiered.
“The television series GEORGE & TAMMY, which premieres on Showtime tonight, wasn’t authorized or approved by the George Richey family or his estate, ”
“ We’ve great respect for the art of music and storytelling, as our family has over 70 combined years in the arts. The late George Richey spent most of his life creating music and helping to bring it to audiences worldwide. His widow, Sheila Richey, has been in the industry since 1993. ”
The statement also alleges that the George Richey Estate wasn’t communicated by the team behind George & Tammy in the making of the show. They allege George Jones’s widow wasn’t communicated moreover.
George Richey features in the series, given that he was a musketeer with the nominal couple and their writing mate. The show captures Sheila Richey’s special appearance in the show. Steve Zahn played the role of George Richey and Kelly McCormack portrayed Sheila.
