In her postpartum recovery, Sharna Burgess is experiencing “newborn happiness.” On Tuesday, the Dancing With the Stars pro revealed that she had to have a C-section while discussing her postpartum recovery on Instagram.

Tuesday, one week after she and Brian Austin Green had their son Zane as their first child on June 28, Burgess posted a mirror selfie video to her Instagram story.

She annotated the photo, writing “One-week postpartum.” Recovery progresses steadily but slowly.

After publishing that, she updated her viewers on her health and the birthing process in a number of videos.

I am in newborn bliss and I have so much to share, but I am taking my time and living in the moment, said Sharna Burgess.

The dancer continued, “I ended up having to undergo a C-section,” assuring followers that the experience was “not horrific” and that she will later provide the whole details of what happened.

It turned out to be the most secure and advantageous choice for both mother and child, she said.

Burgess said that she is relieved that her “birth plan” was only loosely defined because of how things transpired, saying, “Had I continued with a plan of what I thought it was going to be, it would have shaken me when it changed… so I’m super grateful for my attitude to everything.”
