Jeremiah Martin Green was an American musician best known as a founding member and drummer of the indie rock band Modest Mouse from 1993 to March 2003, and again from May 2004 until his death in December 2022.

Jeremiah Green was born on March 4, 1977, in Oahu, Hawaii, U.S. He grew up in Moxee, Washington where his father was stationed in Army.
He along with his father moved to Seattle in 1989. He did his High Schooling at Kentwood High School, Covington, Washington.

Jeremiah Green was the drummer for Modest Mouse band and also the founding member of the band. It was formed in 1993, by Green along with singer/guitarist Isaac Brook and bassist Eric Judy.
He performed with Modest Mouse until 2003 when he opted to quit. Green again rejoined the band in 2004

“I don’t know a way to ease into this: Today we lost our dear friend, Jeremiah,” Modest Mouse wrote on its Instagram account. “He laid down to rest and simply faded out”.
Last week, frontman Isaac Brock confirmed that Green had been “diagnosed with cancer a short while ago” without going into specifics about his condition. It was also said that Green had pulled out of a tour because he had stage 4 cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy.

Green, 45, helped found the post-grunge outfit in the early nineties in Washington state but soon they became a fixture of the less abrasive Portland, Oregon, music scene.

“I don’t know a way to ease into this: Today we lost our dear friend, Jeremiah,” the band said on Facebook. “He laid down to rest and simply faded out.”
“I’d like to say a bunch of pretty words right now, but it just isn’t the time. These will come later and from many people. Please appreciate the love you give, get, have given, and will get. Above all, Jeremiah was about love. We love you.”
Isaac Brock also asked fans to send “good vibes” to his bandmate.
