After being married for more than two decades, Major League Baseball great Albert Pujols and his wife, Deidre, will be getting a divorce
Deidre Pujols announced last week that she was having brain surgery to remove a tumor that was first found last fall. Albert Pujols’ spring training debut with the St. Louis Cardinals overlapped with the surgery.

These circumstances are never simple, and they didn’t appear anywhere. This is a result that I never wanted to happen as a devoted Christian. I prayed for many long days and nights, pleading with the Lord to lead me.
I’m grateful for the five lovely kids we brought into the world, and I’m still determined to give them a secure and loving home. During this time, I kindly ask that you respect our privacy as well as the privacy of our five children.
