A college student from the United States Otto Frederick Warmbier (December 12, 1994 – June 19, 2017) was detained in North Korea in 2016 on suspicion of subversion.
He was given away by North Korea in a vegetative state in June 2017, and he passed away shortly after.
Otto Warmbier Teeth Before And After
Warmbier’s lower teeth were positioned toward the back of his mouth, according to his dentist, indicating that pressure was applied to them after May 27, 2015.
Warmbier was found guilty of attempting to sneak a product bearing a propaganda slogan out of his hotel, according to official North Korean media, and was given a 15-year term of hard labor.
He apparently experienced significant strain on his teeth after being imprisoned in North Korea, which caused bone loss.

Otto Warmbier, a college student who spent 17 months in a North Korean jail, suffered dental damage after being returned to his family; the lower tooth on his left side was twisted backward in comparison to earlier dental records.
When North Korea transferred Otto Warmbier back to the US, his parents saw him as follows: “Otto is lying on a stretcher…jerking violently, making these wailing, horrible sounds… He is deaf and blind, and his bottom teeth appear to have been replaced with a pair of pliers.
Otto’s bottom two teeth had been altered with a pair of pliers, according to his father Fred Warmbier. Despite the fact that everything about him was in fine shape according to the post-mortem examinations, he had scars around his mouth and, according to his dentist, had some dental damage.
Torture of Otto Warmbier
According to his dentist, Todd Williams, Warmbier had no dental problems before traveling to North Korea between the years 2014 and 2015.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that North Korea was not responsible for Otto Warmbier’s passing.
Was Otto Warmbier Given His Freedom?
Otto Warmbier was brought back to the United States by North Korea without receiving a fifteen-year prison sentence.
Otto Warmbier, 22, was freed more than a year after being given a 15-year prison and hard labor term by a North Korean court.
Warmbier was detained in January 2016 on suspicion of stealing a propaganda poster from the hotel he was staying at in Pyongyang.
On the same day that former NBA player Dennis Rodman met Kim Jong Un, Warmbier was freed.
Is Otto Warmbier Still Alive?
Only six days after Otto Warmbier’s arrival from North Korea was his death officially reported. Sadly, he died on June 17, 2017.
Otto Warmbier’s death, in accordance with Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco of Hamilton, was brought on by an unidentified injury that occurred more than a year earlier.
Otto’s condition was described by doctors as “unresponsive wakefulness,” in which he blinks and opens his eyes but shows no indications of understanding words.
His cognitive issues had no clear reason, according to medical tests. The brain of Warmbier reportedly sustained catastrophic damage, but he showed no signs of physical harm, according to doctors.
