So who is Zawe Ashton?
The daughter of a white British father and a Ugandan mother who both worked as teachers, Zawe Ashton was born and raised in London. She also has politics in her background. Her maternal grandfather, Paulo Muwanga, briefly held the de facto presidency of Uganda in May 1980 as well as the position of prime minister in August 1985.
She studied at the Manchester School of Theatre and the Anna Scher Theatre School. She is a talented writer and was the 2000 London Poetry Slam Champion.
When it comes to acting, Ashton is arguably best known for her performances on British TV sitcoms Fresh Meat and Not Safe for Work, as well as for her roles in the movies Dreams of a Life and the Netflix horror flick Velvet Buzzsaw starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
How did the couple meet?
In 2019, Hiddleston and Ashton met while sharing a stage with each other in the revival of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal. Coincidentally in both the West End and Broadway versions, Hiddleston and Ashton portrayed Robert and Emma, a married couple.
When they went to the U.S. Open together in August 2019, they first raised dating rumours, but they didn’t go to their first event as lovers until September 2021.
A diamond ring was spotted on Ashton’s finger at the March 2022 BAFTAs, and sources later confirmed the couple’s engagement.

Are the couple expecting their first child?
According to sources, Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton recently became parents and secretly gave birth to their first child. The actress had already announced her pregnancy when she walked the red carpet for the Mr. Malcolm’s List premiere in New York City in June of this year while sporting her baby belly.
Tom and Zawe are delighted to be parents and are loving it. They are delighted despite their difficulties as new parents and lack of sleep.
