Although the sixth season of Overwatch 2, which brought three narrative-driven PvE missions and the brand-new Flashpoint PvP game mode, is almost over, fans of Blizzard’s well-liked hero shooter will find that the fun never ends. Season 7 will begin, offering players thrilling reworks and balancing adjustments, a brand-new limited-time game mode, returning events, new cosmetic prizes, and more throughout its nine-week duration.
Season 7 (officially dubbed “Rise of Darkness”) is almost here, and the devs have shared all the information fans need to know regarding the release window, new content, Battle Pass, and other details. Here’s a comprehensive summary of all those specifics, divided into manageable chunks.
Overwatch 2 Season 7 Release Time
Players of Overwatch 2 are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Season 7 on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4. Overwatch 2 Season 7, titled Rise of Darkness, will arrive in the UK on October 10 at 6 p.m. BST. A significant update, a new Battle Pass, awards, character skins, and even a Diablo-themed game mode called Trials of Sanctuary will all be included in the upcoming season.
In the cooperative survival game Trials of Sanctuary, heroes battle waves of adversaries and bosses. More information is provided by Blizzard: “In an all-new cooperative survival brawl called Trials of Sanctuary, you’ll engage in combat with the demons of the Burning Hells in our first-ever Blizzard crossover game mode, which launches with our Halloween Terror event.
Fight as One of Six Different Heroes:
In a desperate struggle for existence, Demon Hunter Sombra, Barbarian Zarya, Night Raven Illari, Cleric Lifeweaver, Imperious Reinhardt, and Inarius Pharah must contend with an onslaught of relentless forces.
“Challenging bosses wait along the way, including Azmodan Wrecking Ball, Butcher Roadhog, and the Blessed Mother herself – Lilith Moira.”
Overwatch 2 Season 7: Battle Pass
Since Overwatch 2’s release last year, a new battle pass has been released with every new season, and Season 7 won’t be any different. The Season 7 Battle Pass, which offers players the opportunity to advance through 80 tiers and obtain a range of skins, emotes, voice lines, sprays, and other special cosmetic items, will be made accessible when Rise of Darkness launches next week.
All Overwatch 2 players will be able to access the rewards from the Free reward track of the pass, but only those who purchase the Premium Battle Pass with 1,000 Overwatch Coins ($10) will be able to access the rewards on the Premium track. The battle pass’s Halloween motif is appropriate for a season that starts in October and aligns with Rise of Darkness’s overall concept.
Because of this, a lot of its prizes will be eerie in nature; however, if previous battle passes are any indication, there will probably be a few off-theme unlocks accessible as well for variety’s sake. It is anticipated that 2,000 Overwatch Credits will also be obtainable: 500 from the Premium reward track and 1,500 from the Free one.
Overwatch 2 will get a total of 17 new Halloween skins for Season 7, including new appearances for Soldier: 76, Ashe, Genji, Mercy, Bastion, Zenyatta, Lifeweaver, Ramattra, Lucio, Echo, Widowmaker, and more characters.
Though it’s unknown how many of these skins will be available through the Season 7 Battle Pass rather than Overwatch 2’s cosmetics shop, several of these can be seen in the official trailer for Rise of Darkness, which you can watch at the conclusion of this post.
