Prince William and Prince Harry won’t ever have the same kind of relationship again, according to a royal expert.
In the British royal family’s newest book, “The New Royals — Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown,” author Katie Nicholl claimed that the brothers’ relationship is still strained despite their display of unity over the past few days as they grieved the passing of Queen Elizabeth II during an appearance on GBNews’ “Dan Wootton Tonight” on Thursday.
The new Prince of Wales “just can’t forgive” his younger brother claims the royal editor of Vanity Fair.
“He had imagined Harry serving as his right-hand man, but he is now working by himself. Thank heavens Kate is by his side “Nicholl spoke to the host, Dan Wootton.
The royal specialist also addressed the assertions made in her book, according to which the turmoil within the royal family was the reason the Queen was depressed and worn out in her final months.
“The most intriguing aspect was how Her Majesty felt about everything. She adored Harry, as we all know. She and Harry were always close and had a good relationship “Wootton was informed by Nicholl of the relationship the Duke of Sussex had with his grandmother. “Right up until the end, she answered his call. She was always available for him.”
In her latest book, Nicholl asserted that Queen Elizabeth had spoken to a friend about how she felt about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to leave the royal family and the commotion it generated.
According to the book, the unnamed confidante allegedly told Nicholl that the Queen had expressed her “exhaustion” and “extreme hurt” over the “turmoil of their decision.”
On the broadcast on Thursday, Nicholl made the claim that “the Queen understood there was nothing more she could do to construct a reunion between William and Harry.”
“I believe the majority of people find it to be really unfortunate that this terrible family division ruined the latter years of her reign when she should have been enjoying her time and spending it with her great-grandchildren and grandchildren,”
Even before the former married Markle in 2018, there were rumors that Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship was beginning to deteriorate. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex withdrew from royal duties in 2020, and the brothers subsequently moved to California, leading to their estrangement.
Following Prince Harry and Markle’s shocking interviews in which they accused the palace of ignoring the duchess’s pleas for assistance and asserted that their very presence upset the royal family’s dynamic, there are reports that tensions between the Sussexes and the royal family reportedly grew worse.
Prince William requested his younger brother and sister-in-law to join him and his wife Kate Middleton in addressing crowds gathering outside Windsor Castle two days after the Queen’s demise, which brought Prince Harry and Prince William back together after the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8.
While being around each other has been “uncomfortable” for the brothers, an unnamed source close to Prince Harry said at the time that “everyone is trying their best.”
