After a year of separation, Bill and Melinda Gates reunite for their charitable foundation.
Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates are demonstrating their commitment to philanthropy. This week, the ex-couple demonstrated that they remain dedicated to cooperating in order to bring about positive change in the world.
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s 2022 Goalkeepers event was held in person for the first time following a two-year break due to the epidemic. Bill and Melinda, who officially divorced in August 2021, reunited there on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The two shared attendance at the Goalkeepers 2022 Global Goals Awards celebration and photographed with the recipients, who included a European Commission president, a journalist, a nonprofit organizer, and a climate change activist.
Melinda discussed how she and her ex-husband continue to collaborate on their foundation’s many initiatives in an interview with Bloomberg TV before the event.
Last week, we had our first in-person meeting with our board of trustees, Melinda said. “They all, I believe, would confirm Bill and Melinda’s continued dedication to this organization and their effective collaboration. We’re carrying out that today.”
Early in May 2021, Bill and Melinda made their decision to dissolve their 27-year marriage public. They have three children together and have been married since January 1994. Their divorce was formalized three months after that.
Bill revealed details of the divorce in an interview with The Times published in May of this year “Being able to work with her makes me feel fortunate. In addition to the Giving Pledge and the annual conference that she and I co-host in June, we have the Foundation’s annual employee gathering.”
