Irish-American dancer Michael Ryan Flatley was born on July 16, 1958. Riverdance, Lord of the Dance, Feet of Flames, and Celtic Tiger Live all helped him gain fame as an Irish dancer.

Personal Life
After getting married to Beata Dziaba in 1986, Flatley and Dziaba were together for 11 years before filing for divorce in 1997.
Niamh O’Brien, a dancer who had been in several of the shows Flatley had produced, became his girlfriend later on. They tied the knot in Ireland in 2006, and their son was born the following year.

Flatley was honored as a Fellow of the American Irish Dance Teachers’ Association and was the first person to receive the Irish Dancing Commission Fellowship award (essentially an honorary degree in Irish dance) in December 2001.
Flatley was honored by Prince Rainier of Monaco with a special award for his charitable work that year, and in March of that same year, he was awarded Irish American of the Year by Irish America magazine.
