He gave a BBC News interview about it ten years after his flight.
In February 2013, Dennis Tito declared his plan to launch a privately funded spacecraft to Mars by 2018. He said that the technology was already available and that the only issues left to be resolved are the physical and psychological demands of a 501-day journey for the human crew.
However, he and other “Mars Inspiration” project members acknowledged in November 2013 that without NASA’s financing and support, their concept would not be feasible.
