The Call the Midwife cast and crew have become so well-known and adored by viewers since the show’s debut on our screens back in 2011, that they almost feel like additional family members.
As a result, losing a member of that family can be incredibly sad, whether it be a beloved character on screen or a beloved crew member behind the camera.
In the eighth and last episode of the eleventh season of Call the Midwife, numerous people’s lives were in danger, and the program also paid a heartfelt farewell to Kevin Corbishley.

On Sunday, February 20, 2022, BBC One and iPlayer broadcast the eighth and final episode of Call the Midwife season 11.
The nurses and workers at Nonnatus House come together to aid the victims of the tragedy after the horrific train catastrophe at the end of episode 7.
Everyone has to put on a brave face because Dr. Turner and Sister Julienne’s lives are in danger because they were on board the train when it derailed.
Thankfully, the two escape unharmed, and the Nonnatus House staff is reunited safely despite Sister Julienne’s heart attack fear.

A Touching Honor Is Paid to Kev Corbishley by Call the Midwife
The episode’s concluding moments saw the reunion of the Nonnatus House family, and the closing credits paid homage to Kevin Corbishley, affectionately known as Kev, a member of Call the Midwife’s extended family.
The tribute’s title card said simply:
“In Honor of Kevin Corbishley, 1965–2022”
On 15 episodes of Call the Midwife between 2020 and his passing earlier this year, Kevin Corbishley served as a standby rigger in the camera and electrical department.
The adored cast member also contributed to the 2012 film Anna Karenina, which starred Kiera Knightley and Jude Law, as an art department assistant and as a rigger on the BBC comedy series Ghosts.

Fans Render Respect
After the show, viewers immediately took to social media to pay their own respects to Kevin, his family, and the larger Call the Midwife community.
Sending condolences to his family and the cast and crew of the best television series, one fan on Twitter wrote: “So sad to hear this.”
Another person added: “Thank you to the entire cast and crew of Call the Midwife. Apologies for your loss, x.

On Twitter, a different supporter commented: “That tribute was very sad but great that a crew member was so appropriately memorialized. gone too quickly. R.I.P”
I’m really sorry to hear this, the distraught supporter continued. wishing his entire family well.
“Rest in eternal Peace Kevin,” the fan concluded.
Kevin was referred to as “A deeply valued member of our crew” on the official Call the Midwife Twitter account, which also offered its own tribute.
