The rumors of a trilogy battle between the two heavyweight heavyweights have not subsided since they returned to training in 2020. Twice during their primes, the two engaged in spectacular duels.
On November 9, 1996, the inaugural battle, titled “Finally,” took place. By technical knockout in the eleventh round, Evander Holyfield defeated Mike Tyson and took the WBA heavyweight title.
In June of 1997, they hooked back up again. During this bout, Mike Tyson notoriously bit off a piece of Evander Holyfield’s ear.
Evander Holyfield was declared the winner after Mike Tyson was disqualified in the third round.
