On Friday, Susan Lucci spoke on stage during the 49th Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony at the Pasadena Convention Center in memory of her late husband Helmut Huber.
The 75-year-old All My Children actress opened the In Memoriam segment by stating that the Emmys “celebrate people that we loved and have lost this year” and expressing her admiration for Huber, who passed away on March 28 at the age of 84.
“Helmut was my one and only love.” Grief, so the saying goes, is the price we pay for love. She said with poignancy, “Grief is a painful price, but I wouldn’t give up even one second of the love.

He was a self-assured carer who understood just how to get things done and keep everyone laughing at the same time, the actress continued.
