Sheila Hancock’s Daughter Was Diagnosed with Cancer
Sheila Hancock’s daughter has fought cancer in recent years. However, it is uncertain which of her daughters has been diagnosed with the illness.
“The last five years have been awful for anybody, I think,” Hancock told The New York Times, “but it was really hard for me because of my daughter’s illness, and then I injured my back, and I just thought, ‘I can’t believe this is a happening.”
Hancock has a long history of losing family members to the sickness. Two of Sheila’s prior spouses died as a result of her cancer struggle. She married actor Alec Ross, who died of oesophageal cancer in 1971.
In 1973, she married another actor, John Thaw. In 2002, he died of oesophageal cancer.
Sheila Hancock is the mother of two biological daughters. Melanie, her first daughter, was born to her first husband, Alec Ross, in 1964.
Joanna, her other daughter, was born too late to actor John Thaw. Her second marriage gave her a stepdaughter, Abigail Thaw.
Her three daughters are also in the entertainment industry. Joanna’s credits include Love Actually (2003), The Inspector Lynley Mysteries (2001), and Piers Morgan’s Life Stories (2009). She has two daughters with Matt Harvey, to whom she has been married since 2004.
Melanie has also been in the TV series Bergerac as well as films such as Van der Valk (1972), A Touch of Frost (1992), and Trainer (1991).

Sheila Hancock is releasing her memoir at the age of 89. The actress has also spoken out about her health issues and aging.
Hancock was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1988 and recovered well. Furthermore, the resilient actress has overcome rheumatoid arthritis and Brexit. Hancock has stated that she was in a lot of pain and battled clinical depression during her rehabilitation.
The actress also revealed that shaving her legs resulted in a damaged back and a fractured wrist.

Sheila Hancock’s new memoir, Old Rage, is out now. Her book will be published in its first edition on June 9, 2022.
She started writing the memoir in 2016, according to the seasoned actress. She has attempted to address every aspect of her life’s fulfillment and contentment.
Hancock has admitted that the aches and pains have become second nature to her. She has stated that aging is “A Fair Deal” because of her advanced age.
“It’s always been bad,” she says of her body and the slew of ailments she’s suffered over the years.
“I’m often seeing advertisements that claim to be rejuvenating or ‘age-defying,’ and I say to myself, ‘Well, I don’t know why they’re so hateful about old age.’ Youth is a terrible time.
