Don Kirshner, an American producer, recruited Newton-John to join his band Tomorrow. A “science fiction musical” film and a corresponding soundtrack album, both titled after the group and released by the record label RCA, was released in 1970.

It was the same year that the band released two singles, “You’re My Baby Now”/”Goin’ Back” and “I Could Never Live Without Your Love”/”Roll Like a River”. The endeavor was a failure, and the band disbanded after the release of neither single.
