Michael Chandler, a professional mixed martial artist from the United States, was born on April 24, 1986. He currently fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Lightweight category (UFC).

Chandler has been a professional fighter since 2009, although he initially rose to prominence when he signed with Bellator MMA, for which he fought from 2010 until 2020.

There, Chandler won the Bellator Season Four Lightweight Tournament and went on to win three Bellator Lightweight Championships. He is ranked #5 in the UFC lightweight standings as of November 2, 2021.

Michael Chandler has undergone a bizarre physical makeover to get shredded in time for his battle with Dustin Poirier.

On the undercard of UFC 281, which features middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, 31, and Alex Pereira, 35, the lightweight duo square off.

Michael Chandler’s Crazy Body Transformation

Michael Chandler Before and After

With two months to prepare, Chandler had an official bout with Poirier, 33, in September.

And the 36-year-old American didn’t waste any time in showing off his lean body before the Madison Square Garden event. Photos taken before and after Chandler’s change can be seen, as provided by ESPN.

In May, he knocked out 38-year-old Tony Ferguson with a front kick that went viral. And while it will be difficult to equal that performance, Chandler predicts he will defeat Poirier in New York within the allotted time.

“Dustin Poirier is not a crazy-hard problem to solve, but I don’t say that, that it’s not a challenging fight,” he said in an interview with Yahoo Sports.

But he is quite good at the fundamentals. The finest among us frequently just have a tonne of grit, excellent cardiovascular fitness, excellent athletic ability, and excellent perseverance. Then, they are simply great with the fundamentals.

He has excellent striking skills. He excels in the grappling and grappling defense categories. Because Dustin Poirier has a plethora of knowledge and expertise, there aren’t many situations in which you can take advantage of him.

However, I’m going to go out there, start quickly, get in his face quickly, hopefully, make him doubt himself pretty quickly, mix it up, do exactly what I need to do in all areas of mixed martial arts, and go out there and raise my hand.

Summing-Up

With a record of 2-2 in the UFC, Michael Chandler is coming off a viral knockout victory over Tony Ferguson in May. The former two-time Bellator lightweight champion explains what he needs to accomplish to have his hand raised against Poirier and claims that since joining the UFC, he has wanted to fight Poirier.

Chandler underwent a significant transformation, as seen in the before and after images.
