Dan’s father is Armenian, hence he has some Armenian ancestry. Paul Bilzerian had amassed a $40 million fortune by the age of 36.
Paul was convicted of tax and security fraud in 1988. Dan was just eight years old at the time.
The older Bilzerian filed for bankruptcy in 2001, claiming only $15,000 in assets and more than $140 million in debt. Terri Steffen is Dan’s mother.
There is a fellow poker player in Dan’s family, Adam, whose brother Dan also has a sibling. In its heyday, the family resided in the largest house in Tampa, a 28,000-square-foot mansion with ten bedrooms.
After Paul fled to the Caribbean in order to avoid arrest, this residence was foreclosed upon in 2016.
Both Dan and Adam’s trust funds were purportedly established before their father’s arrest and subsequent indictment, according to reports.
How much of these funds have contributed to Dan’s present-day affluent lifestyle or whether any of those funds were perhaps ill-gotten in Paul’s alleged tax and security scams are unknown.

They were asked to return the money in order to help Ruderman pay back the people he had stolen from throughout the course of his career as a criminal.
When Alex Rodriguez was accused of illegal gambling in the same year, Dan publicly supported him.
