You shouldn’t plan on seeing Britney Spears perform anytime soon. The singer wrote a lengthy letter on Instagram on Sunday in which she reflected on the work she produced during her 13-year conservatory and said she “probably” wouldn’t perform ever again.

Spears began the post by bemoaning her lack of creative control over her music videos at that time — she claims the only video from that timeframe she liked was the one for “Work Bitch” — and her unpleasant experience working with photographers.

In typical fashion, the article primarily targeted her father, Jamie Spears, who oversaw the pop singer’s property from 2008 until 2021.

The most insulting SO CALLED skilled images on each tour, according to this. I mean, they could have at the very least cheated and edited them for me… just saying… 2 day shoots for the brand-new show in Vegas were really the worst ever… and me anticipating the photos for five months on tour… they never gave me any,” she commented beside a (literally) cheeky shot. “I’d rather shoot photos of myself in studios than deal with the most repulsive people I’ve ever encountered,” the speaker said.

Spears said her prior experiences left her “traumatized” and unsure of whether she’ll ever perform on stage again. She also said she was unhappy with the number of dancers she was required to perform with on stage during her four-year Las Vegas residency. (The final night of her residency in 2017 also served as the occasion for her final stay.)

She concluded by saying, “Kiss my God rattling mum fucking ass,” before adding, “I’m quite traumatized for all times and certainly I’m mad as fuck and no I won’t probably perform once more simply because I’m cussed and I’ll make my point.”

Spears has previously discussed the possibility of ending her singing career, but this is the first time she has brought it up since the end of her conservatorship.

Spears recently made her formal comeback to music with “Hold Me Closer,” a disco-infused remake of a number of Elton John’s songs. However, she is definitely not planning a world tour anytime soon. The song was her first new work since her 2016 album Glory, which also included John himself.

At the time, Spears’ attorney Mathew Rosengart lauded the pop sensation for making a spectacular comeback after years of legal struggles. “I used to be overwhelmed with questions about what Britney will do subsequent” after “our hard-fought courtroom battles and success in eliminating her father as a conservator after which the termination of the conservatorship final 12 months,” he said in a press statement to Rolling Stone.

“My response was simple: “For the first time in 13 years, that’s all about one person, and one person only: Britney. Britney is a fantastic artist and a legendary figure.
