She had only advanced past the second round of a Grand Slam tournament once before 2021, at the 2014 French Open.

While Tomljanovic has yet to win a WTA title, she has reached four finals, including the Hua Hin Championships, where she lost to Dayana Yastremska in February of this year.
After the 2014 US Open, the tennis star began competing for the Australians and shifted national allegiances from Croatia to Australia.
To get full Australian citizenship in January 2018, despite obtaining permanent status, she was required to represent Croatia in non-Grand Slam tournaments.

His greatest grand slam finish of the year came at the US Open, where he lost in straight sets to Rafael Nadal in the semis.

After that, he made it to the quarterfinals of the French Open last month, when he faced Novak Djokovic before falling in a four-set thriller.

Are Berrettini and Tomljanovic dating?
The couple had been caught shopping together in Austria, prompting speculation that they were getting close.
Tomljanovic’s WTA season was ended by the time Berrettini arrived in Vienna for a tournament.
Maria Sakkari, a fellow tennis player, responded to the Instagram post with a slew of heart-shaped emojis to make sure everyone knew.
And now that they’ve made their relationship public, the two players are frequently spotted at one other’s games to show their support for their partners.

“I finished ahead of everyone else by around five minutes.” If she won, I didn’t know because the score wasn’t shown in my best-of-five match. That’s when I started thinking, “Maybe she finished before me, so she’ll be here to meet me.”
When I was done filming movies, I wondered if she had lost or was upset. Just as I was about to leave the court, my coach called out the score: 5-1. When I discovered the range was 15 to 40, I immediately thought, “oh no!”. “I’d rather play than watch her match,” I replied.
