Kanye West’s account is blocked by Twitter after an anti-Semitic message
Kanye West’s account was just suspended by Twitter due to his anti-Semitic remarks about the Jewish people. His Instagram account was recently blocked for similar reasons.
Kanye West, who now goes by the name Ye, announced his comeback to social media after a two-year absence. The rapper posted a tweet about Mark Zuckerberg deactivating his Instagram account. In light of a recent anti-Semitic tweet, a Buzzfeed report now claims that Twitter has also locked the well-known rapper’s account.
Twitter erased Kanye West’s message in addition to briefly locking the account, but not before users quickly screenshotted it.
‘I’m a bit drowsy tonight but when I wake up I’m gonna death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE, The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have messed with me and tried to black ball everyone who opposes your agenda,’ the now-deleted tweet reads.
According to The Verge, Katie Rosborough, a Twitter representative, stated that the locked account was done so because it had broken Twitter’s rules.
How long his Twitter account will be restricted is still a mystery. If you’re not aware, according to Twitter policies, a locked account will stay in “Read-only” mode and may be restricted for anywhere from 12 hours and seven days, depending on the seriousness of the offense.
This means that while other users on the social media platform can still engage with Kanye West’s profile, he won’t be able to like, share, or tweet until the limits are lifted.
Elon Musk welcomed Haddaway West back to Twitter last week. In a recent interview, the rapper said that the American Jewish Committee was “loaded with racist and antisemitic connotations” and that it was at the center of a debate over wearing a “White Lives Matter” t-shirt.
