But I do think it’s been a great story for her character in the end. It really makes her experience more real that she finally got the job she wanted, but that she was pregnant when she started and knew what could happen if people found out.”
Alexi said that the part of the story where Angela is pregnant was meant to be meaningful to working moms and moms-to-be. It also raised some good questions, like how long can a pregnant cop keep working? It is hard work and dangerous.
“I think a lot of women in the workplace who have had to walk that line will relate to it. It does add a lot of drama and make her story more complicated. How does she handle her pregnancy at work? How does she figure out who to tell and when? And how long can a pregnant cop really do the action-packed parts of her job? We mine a lot of really valuable things with her “Alexi said.
