Palmer and Gaiman met in 2008, when she asked him to write stories to accompany photographs of herself posing as a corpse.
Palmer claimed that Gaiman fell in love first, and after that, he sat down firmly and told her he was content to wait years to date her.
Due to their busy schedules, many of their dates involved two to three-day get-togethers.According to Palmer’s blog, these meetings involved a lot of adult activities.
When did the couple get married?
In January of 2011, the two got legally married in the home of writers Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman.
The two have an open marriage, of which Gaiman has said,”We would not allow another relationship to imperil what we have.We talk.And talk.And talk.And hug a lot.And talk some more.And then do whatever needs to be done in the real world.”
Palmer and Gaiman gave multiple interviews about their open marriage, but Palmer refused to speak more about it because it would “disrespect” her husband and their lovers.
When did the problems start?
After having their son Ash in 2015, their relationship began to hit a rough patch.Gaiman said,”The thing I hate most about our relationship is our respective calendars, we can never quite sync them up.We’re always travelling.Things can get stressful, more so now we’re parents.Once, we would just go off on our separate travels, do our things and then come back to one another, but now that we have Ash, one of us is always at home with him.”
During the pandemic, the three were living together in New Zealand until Palmer confirmed on Patreon that Gaiman returned to the UK, leaving her and their four-year-old son Ash in New Zealand.
In May of 2020, Gaiman’s Goodreads account revealed that he is reading a book called “Splitting: Protecting Yourself While Divorcing Someone with Borderline or Narcissistic Personality Disorder.”
He later claimed that his account was hacked by someone that had a dark sense of humor in reference to his relationship going south.
