In an effort to better ourselves, we make New Year’s resolutions as 2022 comes to a close. While there is nothing inherently wrong with self-improvement, the most crucial aspect of our lives that can always be improved is our spiritual life. Instead of making and breaking New Year’s resolutions, why we make 2023 the year that we revive our prayer life?
Jesus devoted a great deal of time to prayer. Prayer was crucial to his ministry; he was unable to function without it. Jesus said, “Very truly I say to you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can only do what he sees his Father doing, for whatever the Father does, the Son likewise does.” How can we hope to grow spiritually if we are unaware of what the father desires for us?
