Based on Ben Dunn’s Warrior Nun Areala comic book character, Warrior Nun is an American fantasy drama web series produced by Simon Barry.

The concept was originally created as a feature film adaptation, but after Netflix had given the project a series order for a first season, it was reimagined as a television series.

Numerous places in Andalusia, Spain are used for filming, including Antequera, which served as the setting for the fictional Order of the Cruciform Sword’s administrative center.

Alba Baptista, a Portuguese actress, stars as the series’ narrator and protagonist Ava Silva, a paraplegic orphan who discovers she now possesses magical abilities and is compelled to join an ancient order of warrior nuns.

Baptista’s first English-language project is the series. Toya Turner, Thekla Reuten, Lorena Andrea, Kristina Tonteri-Young, and Tristán Ulloa are also included in the cast.

On July 2, 2020, the show made its Netflix debut to mostly favorable reviews. The show’s second season was ordered in August 2020.

Warrior Nun Season 2 Potential Release Date: When Is It Back on Screens?

Warrior Nun Season 2

Fans of Warrior Nun, good news. Thankfully, a (very) tentative release date has been offered for season two; it will return to our screens in the winter of 2022.

November or December it is then. Though we are aware that there may be some waiting involved, we are confident it will be worthwhile.

The showrunner of Warrior Nun, Simon Barry, hinted on Twitter on December 4, 2021, that he has already seen all the fresh episodes: “I can formally deem Season 2 of #WarriorNun a “Holy Hand Grenade” after watching the entire season this week. Be prepared for [explosions].”

The wait seems to be getting to everyone, even Simon, who in March promised followers that something was in the works and kept them interested with some behind-the-scenes images.

March 2022 saw him write: “We apologize for the lack of an update on the S2 trailer or release date, but in the meanwhile, enjoy this brief behind-the-scenes video made just for our incredible #WarriorNun fans. More will follow.”

As soon as we learn anything more firm, we’ll keep you informed.

Who Is In The Warrior Nun Season 2 Cast?

Warrior Nun Season 2

Without our leading woman Alba Baptista as Ava Silva, Warrior Nun just wouldn’t seem right, and it has been confirmed that she will return for more episodes next season.

The series was led by the Portuguese actress, and with season two rapidly approaching, it’s safe to assume many of the other adored characters will be returning as well.

  • This will comprise.
  • As Sister Mary/Shotgun Mary, Toya Turner
  • Jillian Salvius is played by Thekla Reuten.
  • Sister Lilith is played by Lorena Andrea.
  • Sister Beatrice is played by Kristina Tonteri-Young.
  • Father Vincent is played by Tristan Ulloa.
  • Mother Superior Sylvia De Fanti

Since Emilio Sakraya played a significant role in season one’s first half before JC and Ava split up, it’s probable that he will make another appearance in upcoming episodes.

This time around, William Miller’s Adriel, the fictitious angel who initiated the entire experience, should have a larger role. It would be strange for him to be ignored going forward because he was shown to be the villain behind everything in the season one conclusion.

Also, keep in mind that characters who have passed away could reappear as a result of flashbacks or even a supernatural resurrection.

What Can We Expect from Season 2?

Warrior Nun Season 2

In a July 2020 interview with Refinery 29, the show’s star Alba Baptista talked about the potential limits of the investigation of the intriguingly complex character Adriel.

She said, “The authors have it all planned out for a potential season 2.” “… I adore Adriel’s persona. We shall learn more about his complex story as we go along because I think he is so dense.

The second season might be even wilder than the first, she subsequently suggested. A big, big surprise for a potential season 2 is coming, she promised.

“It was well-planned. It wasn’t merely a coincidence. Another storyline twist will be revealed for viewers to speculate about next year. They will have to wait till the following season.

Yes! During their Geeked Week celebrations in June, Netflix gave us a sneak peek at season two.

Ava was seen recounting her life’s events in the harrowing initial glimpse as a conflict erupted all around her.

As Ava and her squad get ready to battle, she has also issued the warning that “No one in history has ever defeated Adriel and survived.”

The badass doesn’t back down and says, “Well then, looks like we’re going to have to make history.”
