Fans of the TV show “Archer” will be treated to yet another excursion into danger. According to Deadline, FX Networks has officially renewed Adam Reed’s animated spy comedy “Archer” for a third season. We learn about the world’s greatest secret agent, Sterling Archer, who is also incredibly cynical and unprofessional, and possibly an alcoholic. Archer is currently working by the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS), which is commanded by his irritable mother, Malory, from whom Archer is most certainly descended. Archer and his inept band of espionage agents and support staff travel the world on espionage operations that, more often than not, go horribly wrong and result in humorous mishaps and blunders.
“Archer” has become a fan favorite among television viewers since its debut in 2009, and the series has rated high on lists of the greatest cartoons of all time published by TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly, among others.
When fans learned that Reed planned to terminate “Archer” after Season 10 in 2016, they were certainly surprised. (Image courtesy of TV Line) Fortunately, as Variety noted, this did not turn out to be the case, and more sexual innuendos and one-liners may be expected in Season 13 of “Archer.”
Archer Season 13 Release Date:
Fans of “Archer” will hopefully not have to wait long for Season 13, but no date has been confirmed as of yet. Season 13 will launch on FXX sometime in 2022 for an eight-episode run, according to the Deadline source. Beyond that, the article doesn’t provide much information, but based on the show’s prior seasons, we can estimate when Season 13 of “Archer” will air.
New seasons of “Archer” usually premiere a year after the previous season ends, so with Season 12 winding up in October, we may expect Season 13 to start in September or November 2022. There have been some deviations to this release schedule, such as when Season 11’s launch was postponed for more than a year due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Hopefully, the pandemic will not have a significant impact on the production of “Archer” Season 13, and we will be able to see the animated spy comedy on television sooner rather than later.

Archer Season 13 Plot:
Season 13 of “Archer” will be difficult to forecast because the series as a whole has proven to be, well, surprising. Archer began his career as a private investigator before becoming the world’s top-secret agent. Then, at one point, we get to experience three seasons of Archer’s comatic dreams, which take us to places like a 1920s Los Angeles crime scene and a spaceship in space, among other things. Despite the fact that nothing in the universe of “Archer” is definite, we have a solid notion of what to expect in the following season.
Since Seasons 11 and 12 return “Archer” to its spy comedy roots, it’s safe to say that the show’s out-of-this-world stories have come to an end on the show. The last time we saw Archer and the crew, they were bidding for espionage contracts with the International Intelligence Agency (IIA), the world’s newest spy agency, in order to return ISIS to its former glory. The following episode reveals that ISIS has been sold to IIA and that Malory has given the “leadership” baton to Archer.
Archer’s best bet is that he’ll try to resurrect ISIS in some form under his leadership, as it’s tough to envision Archer and his comrades gladly working for IIA under any circumstances. Of course, this will almost surely lead to a series of new escapades for the crew, but fans will have to wait until the debut of Season 13 of “Archer” in 2022 to find out what happens.

Archer Season 13 Cast:
The majority of the gang is expected to return in Season 13 of “Archer,” as they have in some form or another in each of the previous seasons. This will most likely include Archer’s ex and fellow spy Lana (Aisha Taylor), the nerdy accountant turned spy Cyril (Chris Parnell), crazy office worker Cheryl (Judy Greer), and openly homosexual agent Ray (H. Jon Benjamin) (Adam Reed). We also have no reason to suspect that Lucky Yates, who plays Dr. Krieger, and Amber Nash, who plays Pam, won’t return in Season 13.
Sadly, Malory Archer, who has been voiced by Jessica Walter since Season 1, will not be returning in Season 13. Fans were horrified to learn of her untimely death in March 2021, but thanks to FX, her voice was included in Season 12. In the Season 12 finale, FX gave Walter’s character Malory an appropriate and poignant ending, in which she’s last seen retiring and vacationing on a beach with her spouse Ron (voiced by Walter’s real-life husband Ron Leibman).
Aside from the core cast, there will undoubtedly be a slew of guest stars throughout the season, as “Archer” is noted for having some of the best guest voice actors on television.
