In 2016, following a heated argument, Brad Pitt is accused of “choking” one of his kids and “smacking” another in the face.
In a cross-complaint she filed in a legal dispute over Château Miraval, the winery they once owned together, the actor from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood ex-wife Angelina Jolie revealed shocking details about the altercation on a private plane that caused their separation, including that he allegedly “grabbed” the actress “by the head.”
Lawyers for the “Maleficent” actress claimed that talks to sell her ex-husband a stake in the alcohol industry fell through when he insisted she sign a nondisclosure agreement, which would have prevented her from discussing Brad Pitt’s physical and emotional abuse of her and their children outside of court. The actress has six children with Pitt: Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 14, as well as Maddox, age
After accusing his then-wife of being “too subservient” to the kids, the “Moneyball” actor allegedly yelled at her in the lavatory during a family flight from France to California in September 2016. The incident is detailed in the filing.
According to the docs, Pitt “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her, then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again, before shoving her into the toilet wall and repeatedly punching the plane’s ceiling, forcing Jolie to leave the restroom.”
The 58-year-old celebrity allegedly rushed at one of his kids as they stepped forward to defend their mother, causing her to grab him from behind.
The documents went on to say that Pitt “threw himself backward into the flight seats to remove Jolie off his back, bruising Jolie’s elbow and back in the process.
“The kids sprang forward and fiercely attempted to defend one another. Pitt choked one of the kids before it was done and hit another one in the face. At one point, Pitt poured beer on Jolie; at another, he spilled red wine and beer on the kids, which prompted some of the kids to beg Pitt to stop.
The FBI began looking into the event in September 2016 but decided against pressing charges against the “Fight Club” star.
However, in the latest countersuit, Angelina’s legal team maintained there was “probable cause to prosecute Pitt with a federal felony for his conduct that day” according to the agent who looked into the claims.
Days after the purported incident, the 47-year-old actress filed for divorce.
Brad filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife and her former firm in February after she transferred her ownership of a wine company to Tenute del Mondo, a division of the Stoli Group, in contravention of an apparent understanding that neither party would transfer without the other’s consent.
However, last month, Angelina’s old business, which is now a part of the Stoli Group, countersued her ex-husband, refuting his account of the events.
The “Girl, Interrupted” the actress stated in the paperwork she submitted this week that one of the reasons she wanted to sell was because she felt uncomfortable working with Brad on any projects including alcohol due to his “acknowledged problem of alcohol consumption.”
She argued that there had not been a sale-related arrangement like the one her ex-husband had previously mentioned. He revealed in 2019 that he had attended AA after their divorce.
