Born Christine Marie Flores on September 26, 1981, Christina Milian is a multi-talented performer with roots in both the United States and Cuba. She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, but spent most of her childhood in Maryland before signing a recording contract with Murder Inc. Records when she was 19 years old.
Milian’s self-titled debut album was published in 2001. It includes the hit singles “AM to PM” and “When You Look at Me,” both of which peaked in the top three on the UK Singles Chart.
Milian’s first top ten American single, “Dip It Low,” was featured on her 2004 album It’s About Time, which peaked at #5. The second single from the album, “Whatever U Want,” has been released. Both singles charted in the top ten in the UK.
Milian’s third studio album, titled simply “So Amazin’,” was released that same year. “Say I” was the only single from the album to get into the Top 30 in the United States. After a month of promoting So Amazin’, Milian’s management announced the singer’s departure from Island Records due to “creative issues.”
In 2009, Milian became an Interscope Records artist. His 2008 single, “Us Against the World,” was released in October. In 2012, Milian inked a recording contract with Young Money Entertainment, and in 2018, she will release her fourth studio album.
Milian’s first career choice was acting. Her breakthrough came in 2003’s Love Don’t Cost a Thing, and she went on to star in 2006’s Be Cool and Pulse. Milian has appeared in a few films, including Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and Bring It On: Fight to the Finish, both of which were released directly to DVD.
Along with Ashley Benson and Chad Michael Murray, Milian featured in the Christmas Cupid 2010 ABC Family Original Movie.
