As a television personality, author, and journalist for CBS News, Gayle King (born December 28, 1954) co-hosted its main morning show, CBS Mornings; before that, she co-hosted the morning show’s predecessor, CBS This Morning. It’s also worth noting that she’s a contributing editor at large for Oprah Magazine.
As Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People of 2019,” King has been recognized for his contributions.
King was born in Chevy Chase, Maryland, and lived in Ankara, Turkey, for six years until returning to the United States with her family at the age of eleven. She earned a psychology degree from the University of Maryland at College Park.
It appears like Gayle King has moved on from the drama surrounding Kobe Bryant.
Who can you talk to if you can’t talk to your best friend?
As part of the “Oprah Winfrey’s 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus Tour” in Denver recently, Gayle King was one of Oprah Winfrey’s “visionaries.”
The friendship between the best friends became more and more entwined.
Winfrey shed a tear when presenting her long-time friend, whom she described as “the mother, the sister, and the friend all in one” to the audience.
They got into a discussion about King’s recent interview with WNBA star Lisa Leslie, which had generated some controversy.
After asking Leslie about rape claims against her late friend Kobe Bryant, the “CBS This Morning” co-host was the target of internet rage and received death threats.
Nine people were murdered in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, earlier this year, including Bryant and his daughter Gianna.
Winfrey told King that she’s moved on from the scandal.
“Does the scab appear? Yes, I agree “The king added. “However, I have progressed.”
A few days after a traumatic event, she stated she “put my game face on and my big girl panties on” because she never lost sight of her identity and purpose.
In an interview, King stated, “I’ve never lost sight of it… It was, however, a steep learning curve and a terrible experience.
Politics and King’s interview were only two examples of how she said that people need to learn to disagree better.
That is something she believes the two of them need to work on together, she added. This means that even if we disagree, and even if you’re angry, you can’t speak to me in the way that I was threatened.
Since 1976, Oprah Winfrey has been a close friend of King’s. Winfrey described King as “the mother I never had, the sister everyone would want, the friend everyone deserves, I don’t know a greater person” in a 2010 interview with Barbara Walters.
Bill Bumpus, an attorney and assistant attorney general in the state of Connecticut, was King’s husband from 1982 to 1993. Kirby and William Bumpus Jr. are King’s children.
