Career:
Acting:
Bratz, a 2007 comedy-drama starring Tom Hanks, marked the beginning of Hanks’ acting career. His acting career began to take off in the early 2010s, with a string of small film roles. After completing his sobriety, he began working in television in the latter half of the decade.
In the Shameless American version, Hanks portrayed Charlie, the father of Sierra Morton’s child, from 2016 to 2018. From 2018 to 2019, he portrayed rapper Blake in the hip-hop drama Empire. Coming in 2020, his father’s WWII drama Greyhound will feature a cameo from him. Later that year, he starred in the Showtime courtroom miniseries Your Honor as Joey Maldini, the best friend of a hit-and-run victim’s brother.
Music:
Chet Haze was Hanks’ alias when he recorded “White and Purple” as a Northwestern University student in 2011. “Black and Yellow” was remixed by Wiz Khalifa, but the lyrics were changed to reflect the colors of his high school. His song “White and Purple (NU Anthem 2010)” has been accused of plagiarising another parody with the same title by Mo Greene. “He didn’t get as much popularity as me,” Chet explains in an interview with Vice.
After meeting for the first time in 2016, Hanks and Drew Arthur formed the band FTRZ. Two singles (Models and NowhereLand), as well as the Ocean Park EP, were released in 2018 by them. “Harley” and “Ticket Out My Head” were released by the duo in 2020 under the new name Something Out West.
Personal Life:
Tiffany Miles, Hanks’ ex-girlfriend, gave birth to a daughter, Micaiah, in April 2016. Hanks attributes his recovery from substance abuse to the support he received from his daughter and parents.
For their efforts in raising awareness about the Attica wildfires of 2018, Hank and his parents were granted Greek citizenship in 2020.
Controversies:
Due to the contrast between his public controversy and his father’s clean-cut image as “America’s Dad,” Hanks has described himself as the black sheep of his family.
Hanks was wanted by British police in 2015 after he caused $1800 in damages to a hotel room. That year, he went to rehab for cocaine abuse.
He was granted a temporary protective order against Hanks’ ex-girlfriend Kiana Parker, who filed a complaint detailing months of verbal and physical abuse by a judge in Fort Bend County, Texas.
On January 8, Hanks filed a lawsuit alleging theft, conversion, assault, and battery against Parker. The lawsuit was not filed until early March of that year. By TMZ on March 31, the gossip site released footage of the incident, which shows Hanks bleeding.
Hanks declared a “White Boy Summer” in an Instagram video he shared on March 26, 2021. An increase in the public interest due to the video resulted in more attention being paid to Hank’s legal battles with Parker.
Initially, Hanks’ Instagram video from August 10th, 2021 urged viewers to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Then he admitted it was all a joke and claimed he’d never been vaccinated, saying, “You won’t be piercing my skin with that needle.
It’s the flu, for crying out loud. Give up, please?” Many pointed out that his parents had contracted COVID-19 the previous year and publicly urged others to get vaccinated as a result of his comments on social media.
