In a new interview with People in June 2022, Hayden Panettiere, 32, opened up about the ups and downs of her life, including her co-parenting relationship with her former Wladimir Klitschko, 46.
Their daughter Kaya, 7, lives with her father in Ukraine, but Kaya and her mother remain close despite the fact that they had an on-again, off-again relationship for many years.
Russia’s recent invasion of Ukraine has weighed heavily on both of their minds, and the actress is grateful he and their daughter are safe.
When asked about their work in Ukraine, she responded, “We’ve been working hand in hand.” To hear his voice or receive a text message from him is a “comfort” because he is currently engaged in combat.

Hayden & Wladimir’s First Met in 2008
When Hayden and Wladimir first met in 2008, he was a professional Ukrainian boxer. Scream 4’s star revealed to Ellen DeGeneres in 2013 that she and her future boyfriend attended a friend’s birthday party.

Even though Hayden was receiving treatment for her substance misuse and depression at the time of her split from Wladimir, she revealed in 2022 that it was a contributing factor in their relationship ending.
Her reasoning for allowing Kaya to leave the country, she stated, was because of this.
Prior to discussing their purported feelings toward Wladimir, she said, “I didn’t want to spend any time with her, but I didn’t want to injure her.” “He didn’t want to be around me. I didn’t want to spend time with myself.
The drugs and booze, on the other hand, gave me a brief period of happiness. Afterwards, I’d be much more depressed than before. A self-destructive spiral had taken hold of me.
When Kaya left, she said, “It was the hardest thing I could have done.” My daughter’s best interests were served by me taking care of myself so that I could be a good mother. Then there are those instances when you have to let go.”
In February of 2022, Kaya’s adoring mother stated that she was “safe” and “not in Ukraine” during Russia’s invasion.
