Tom Brady is widely considered to be the greatest quarterback of all time. When he was selected 199th overall in the NFL Draft in 2000, this was not a likely outcome. The Michigan product was signed by the New England Patriots as a backup to Drew Bledsoe. Following a bizarre agreement with Fox Sports more on that later, we’ll look at Tom Brady’s net worth in 2022.
Tom Brady Illness
This weekend, a familiar face is returning to Foxboro. However, Tom Brady’s voice was unfamiliar to the reporters on Thursday afternoon.
The 44-year-old quarterback gave his weekly press conference in Tampa, and his raspy voice was instantly noticeable. Brady’s rasp has been on and off for the past few months, but Thursday sounded like the sickest he’s ever been.
Brady was ultimately questioned about his throat problem after answering a few questions.
“I have no idea. I’ve had a couple of days like this. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I’ll attempt to figure it out “said Brady. “I mentioned that my mouth is wearier than my arm. Consider it.”
Brady’s voice was hoarse in the summer, according to a reporter.
“I know,” Brady answered. “It reappeared. I know. Strange. Something must be a little — I’m not sure what.”
Later, when asked if he’ll be with his family to the Patriots’ game in Foxboro on Sunday night, he quipped that the hectic pace of the first four weeks of the season may have contributed to his condition.
“A lot — the first four weeks were difficult for me. Patriots, home opener, and then California last week. So I’m like, done for the year after this “said Brady. “I’m bored of it, so maybe that’s why my voice isn’t working.”
Brady did recently announce that he tested positive for COVID-19 after winning the Super Bowl in February, however, he made no mention of his sore throat being tied to that.
Brady has sounded hoarse before important games previously. In the days leading up to Super Bowl XLIX, he felt ill. He went on to win the game, putting in a game-changing fourth quarter to win his first Super Bowl in a decade. So he’s probably not too concerned about how his sore throat will affect his performance at Gillette Stadium on Sunday night.

Career
Brady is considered the biggest “steal” in NFL Draft history due to his late selection. In his second season, he was named the team’s starting quarterback, and he went on to play with the Patriots for 20 seasons, setting the NFL record for most seasons as a quarterback for a single team. Only two quarterbacks have ever won a Super Bowl in their first season as starters.
He is the most successful quarterback in NFL history, having never suffered a losing season as a starter with the Patriots. He has the most division titles (16) of any quarterback in NFL history.
He leads all NFL players in playoff wins and appearances with a 30–11 record. Since 2011, Brady has guided the Patriots to an NFL-record eighth consecutive AFC title games (and 13 overall). Brady has also been selected to 14 Pro Bowls, tying for the most in the NFL.
Brady was suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season after being accused of tampering with footballs during the Deflategate controversy. Brady and the Patriots went on to win two more Super Bowls in a row.
Tom Brady announced his departure from the New England Patriots to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March 2020. He rents Derek Jeter’s opulent custom-built waterfront house for $70,000 per month when in Tampa.

Reorganizations and Endorsements
During his time in New England, Tom Brady has always been open to contract renegotiation. This freed up cap money for the team to sign additional great talent to surround their future Hall of Fame quarterback. That is the championship mindset that pervades the organization.
Brady agreed to restructure his $5.75 salary to $950k in 2012. His roster bonus was converted into a signing bonus by the Patriots. This freed up $7.2 million in cap room. Brady agreed to a three-year, $27 million reworked contract the following year.
In 2014, the Patriots won their fourth Super Bowl. Brady renewed his contract in 2016. This was a $41 million, two-year deal.
The Patriots dealt backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers almost as soon as the pen hit the page. This demonstrated the team’s devotion to Brady, despite his advanced age. Brady instantly demonstrated that he could still play at a high level in 2017, earning his third league MVP. In 2017 and 2019, the Patriots would win their fifth and sixth Super Bowl titles, respectively.
The 2016 campaign was not without controversy. During the 2014 playoffs against the Indianapolis Colts, Brady and the Patriots were probed for using slightly deflated footballs. The Patriots won this game 45-7.
Brady was suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season after a lengthy inquiry. That year, he forfeited $235,294 in compensation. Brady then signed a two-year, $30 million restructuring contract with the Patriots in 2018. His final contract with the Patriots was a one-year, $23 million agreement for the 2019 season.
Brady has earned almost $275 million in his career. Off the field, Brady has a slew of lucrative endorsements. Aston Martin, Tag Heuer, and Sam Adams are among Brady’s most recent sponsors. Under Armour, Ugg, and Foot Locker are among Brady’s sponsors.
Brady signed with Under Armour in 2010 and Ugg a year later. Brady is required by the NFL to wear the Nike swoosh on his jersey, however, he normally wears UA Spine Fierce MC-Bs.
