Vera Mindy Chokalingam aka Mindy Kaling is an American actress, comedian, screenwriter, and producer who has always been a star flooded with the limelight. Recently, she has been the subject of Gay rumors, but the facts indicate that the rumors are unfounded.
She earned recognition for her portrayal of Kelly Kapoor in the NBC comedy The Office. She contributed to the show as a producer, writer, and director as well. From 2012 to 2017, Mindy also created and starred in the Hulu series The Mindy Project. A Wrinkle in Time, Late Night, and The Night Before all-starred Kaling. Since Mindy has been honest about her personal life, we can say with certainty that she is not married.
The love life of Kaling
On the set of The Office, Kaling and B.J. Novak originally met, and they hit it off right away. After they met, they dated intermittently for a period.
In 2012, she spoke with Vulture, “We kind of fell in love through [writing for the show], and then dated on and off for a couple of years, and now we are just, like, best friends. Like, real best friends. It’s the kind of friendship you have when you are embedded with someone, that you can only get by putting in that insane amount of time with people.”
She claims that she doesn’t blame people for speculating that Kaling and Novak are dating. She acknowledges that there is more going on between them than just a friendship. Novak is now seen by her as a member of her family.
Kaling once opened up to Good Housekeeping, “If I was on the outside looking at it, I would think the same thing. But the truth is that B.J. is so much more like a family than a platonic friend. He’s the godfather to my daughter, he comes over once a week. Sometimes he’ll come over just to hang out with her.”

The questions remained unanswered until 2017, Mindy Kaling gave birth to her daughter, Katherine, although she hasn’t said who her father is. The father’s name is not shown on the birth certificate, and she said she won’t be disclosing Katherine’s father anytime soon. B.J. Novak is her godfather, but that is all we know about him.
Additionally, it doesn’t appear that Kaling will disclose who her son’s father is as well, whom she discreetly gave birth to, on September 3, 2020, her second child, Spencer. Up until her latest appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she kept the information a secret.
Kaling told Stephen, “I’m telling it for the first time now, it feels so strange. But I gave birth to a baby boy on September 3. This is news to a lot of people. It’s true.”
Amazingly, Kaling managed to keep her pregnancy a secret from fans for the majority of 2020, but that doesn’t at all feed any of the rumors of her being gay.
