Lizzo appears to be on the verge of another smash. During Kornbread’s Night of 1,000 Lizzos tribute performance in West Hollywood, the “About Damn Time” vocalist made a surprise cameo. As a thank you for the warm welcome she received, Lizzo performed her new single “Everybody’s Gay” for the crowd.
Lizzo called up “Drag Race” stars including Jaida Essence Hall, Daya Betty, Heidi N Closet, and June Jambalaya as she played the new song – which she confirmed will be on her next album, “Special” – onstage at the event. As she said to the crowd, “[It’s about] living your best life, turning up, and dancing and just having some f*cking fun.”
A tribute to singer Lizzo (whom Kornbread called a “local queen on the rise”), the Night of 1,000 Lizzos included an evening of Lizzo-inspired acts on Wednesday night. On stage, Lizzo said, “You don’t comprehend what it means to be that diva” till you do “Night of 1,000 Diva.” “The LGBTQIA+ community has welcomed me with open arms since the day I was born, and I’ve been marching with them ever since, b*tch. I’ve always been a diva, even before I was born. In my heart, it means so a lot to me.”
Lizzo continued to post about Kornbread’s celebrations on Instagram the following day, including a video of her presence in a captioned post that stated, “Kornbread’s party was so much fun.” “All of you don’t get it. Last night, I was living my Lipsync dream. A thousand thanks to @kornbreadthesnack and their 1000 LIZZOS for a wonderful night. All of the queens received a lot of much-needed love and admiration from me. I adore you to the core of my being. Up there, you guys broke the heart of a woman.”

While serving as a guest judge on “Drag Race,” Lizzo and Kornbread forged a friendship. Since then, they’ve seemed to have gotten even closer. A couple photographs of the two from Night of 1,000 Lizzos were also shared by Kornbread on his Instagram page! Kornbread’s caption began, “It’s ABOUT DAMN TIME!” “a huge success was had by everybody! It was a drag performance by @lizzobeeating in our shoes. Singing in front of an audience. As well as a new track from her upcoming album. Tonight, my baby, was a doozy!”
A release date for “Everybody’s Gay” has not been announced by Lizzo, although the project as a whole is scheduled for release on July 15th. Here’s a sneak peek of her appearance at Night of 1,000 Lizzo.
