Alexis Rodney has joined the cast of Guy Ritchie’s upcoming Netflix series ‘The Gentlemen.’
Alex, who was the part of some major hits including Guardians of the Galaxy, Killing Jesus and Outlander, will be seen in another action-comedy film.
He will join the cast with Theo James, who will play the lead role in the film, alongside Vinnie Jones, Kaya Scodelario, Giancarlo Esposito, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson and Peter Serafinowicz.
The film’s story follows an American expat Mickey Pearson who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. Eddie Horniman is shocked to find out that the sizable estate he inherited from his father is located just on top of the largest marijuana farm in all of Europe.
The series is now under production in the United Kingdom. The first two episodes will be directed by Ritchie, who also produced the first movie. Along with executive producing, he co-wrote the pilot with Matthew Read and worked on it alongside Miramax TV‘s Marn Davies, Ivan Atkinson, Marc Helwig, and Moonage Pictures’ Will Gould and Frith Tiplady., whereas the producer of the show is Hugh Warren.
Although the film’s release date hasn’t been announced, the series’ development has already begun, thus the earliest we could see the series is in the third quarter of 2023.
The original 2019 released film includes stars like Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell, and Hugh Grant, which was a box office hit, gathering $115 million with a budget of only $22 million.
