Pop Smoke
Pope Smoke was an American rapper, who rose to fame at such an early age. Born and raised in Canarsie, Brooklyn, he began his musical career at the age of 19 in late 2018 with his debut single “MPR (Panic Part 3 Remix)”. He was famously known for his breakout singles “Welcome to the Party” and “Dior,” released in 2019.
On February 7, 2020, the rapper released his second mixtape, which debuted at number seven on the Top Billboard 200. Just after a couple of weeks later, five hooded men carrying a handgun broke into the house through a second-story balcony, and shot Smoke three times, which resulted in his death at the age of just 20 years.
King Von
Dayvon Daquan Bennett, better known by his stage name King Von was an American rapper and was signed to Lil Durk’s record label Only the Family and Empire Distribution. In December 2018, he released his debut song, “Crazy Story,” which became a surprise hit.
Since Von became well-known, he released Grandson, Vol. 1, a 15-track mixtape with Lil Durk on two of the songs. which debuted at number 75 on the Billboard 200 and number 27 on the Hip Hop/R&B albums list.
On November 6, 2020, Quando Rondo’s and Bennett’s gang got into a fight in front of Atlanta’s Monaco hookah lounge. Throughout the altercation, Bennett received many gunshot wounds. He was admitted to the hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead.
Takeoff
Takeoff was famously known as the member of the hip hop trio Migos along with his uncle Quavo and Offset. Takeoff began rapping in 2008 and was featured in the group’s first full-length project, a mixtape titled Juug Season.
Migos rose to fame with the release of their single “Versace” in 2013. Drake remixed the song, which peaked at 99 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 31 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
While, on November 1, 2022, Takeoff was shot and killed at 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston, Texas. A fatal gunshot was reported by the Houston Police Department around 2:40 in the morning. CST, the victim was found to be dead upon arrival, while the other two victims were “removed in private vehicles to hospitals.”
Nipsey Hussle
Nipsey Hussle was one of the greatest sensations in the American rap music. He was born on August 15, 1985, in Crenshaw, Los Angeles. In the middle of the 2000s, as a newcomer to the West Coast hip hop scene, Nipsey Hussle self-released Slauson Boy Volume 1, a mixtape that gained some local success and later got him signed to Epic Records and Cinematic Music Group.
Hussle rose to fame as a result of the countless mixtapes he released, including as the Bullets Ain’t Got No Name series, The Marathon, The Marathon Continues, and Crenshaw.
Sadly, on March 31, 2019, at 3:18 p.m., Nipsey Hussle was brutally shot at least ten times in the South Los Angeles parking lot of his store, Marathon Clothing. The shooting also injured two other people. After being taken to a hospital, all three victims were declared dead, including Hussle, who passed away at the age of 33.
Tupac
Who else doesn’t know Tupac Amaru Shakur, as he was widely considered as one of the most influential rappers of all time. Shakur is among the best-selling music artists, having sold more than 75 million records worldwide.
Within a Career span of just 6 years, he achieved a lot of fame. He became well-known in West Coast hip hop with the 1991 release of his debut album, 2Pacalypse Now, known for its conscious rap lyrics.
Later in his career, Shakur faced legal issues, including jail, and was shot five times in the lobby of a New York recording studio. Shakur was imprisoned for eight months in 1995 on allegations of sexual assault but was later released while his conviction was being appealed.
On September 7, 1996, around 11:15 pm, a white, four-door, late-model Cadillac vehicle came up to the passenger side and fired into the car. Shakur was shot once in the arm, once in the thigh, and twice in the chest, with one bullet entering his right lung, which resulted in his death.
Biggie
Biggie was a well known American rapper, and also considered as one of the best rappers of all time. His musical background is heavily influenced by Gangsta rap and East Coast hip hop.
His first studio album, “Ready to Die,” was released in 1994 and received positive reviews from music critics all around the world. The album featured his hallmark songs “Juicy” and “Big Poppa.”
On March 23, 1996, Wallace was arrested outside a Manhattan nightclub for following and threatening to kill two autograph-seeking admirers, smashing the taxicab windows, and punching one of them.
A 9 mm blue-steel pistol was fired at Wallace’s car. Wallace was hit by four gunshots, and his entourage hurried him to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where surgeons conducted an emergency thoracotomy, but he was pronounced died at the age of 24.
XXXTentacion
XXXTentacion was an American rapper who established a cult following among his youthful followers with his depression and alienation-themed music throughout his brief career.
The Rapper had faced a number of legal troubles throughout his career, most notably the uproar surrounding the violence allegations brought against him in 2016.
Two armed men approached the rapper while he was driving. In a brief scuffle, the armed guys took a Louis Vuitton bag holding $50,000 and shot Onfroy multiple times. Onfroy was eventually pronounced dead at Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach.
Young Dolph
Young Dolph was an American rapper born in Chicago, Illinois. He started his career in 2008 and later in 2016, he released his debut studio album, King of Memphis, which peaked at number 49 on the Billboard 200 chart.
His seventh album, Rich Slave was released in 2020 and debuted at number four on the Billboard 200, making it his highest-charting album to date.
On November 17, 2021, he was shot and killed in Memphis while picking up cookies for his mother there. He was fatally shot by two assailants driving a white Mercedes-Benz two-door. Thornton suffered 22 gunshot wounds, including both entrance and exit wounds, according to an autopsy.
PNB Rock
Rakim Hasheem Allen, better known by his stage name PnB Rock, was an American rapper and singer who rose to fame in 2016 with his single “Selfish,” which reached at number 51 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and his appearance alongside Chance the Rapper on Ed Sheeran’s song “Cross Me.”
PnB Rock was robbed and fatally murdered on September 12, 2022 at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles in South Los Angeles, close to Main Street and Manchester Avenue. Throwing his partner, with whom he shared a two-year-old daughter, under a table, he was able to escape.
Smoke Dawg
Canadian born rapper Smoke Dawg was a member of the hip-hop ensemble Halal Gang along with Mustafa the Poet, Puffy L’z, Safe, and Mo-G, who later joined forces with the Prime Boys to form the supergroup Full Circle.
Smart began rapping at the age of 16 in 2012. He gained recognition in 2014 with the release of “Still” featuring Halal Gang member MoG, released on October 4, 2014.
Sadly, On June 30, 2018, Smart was shot and killed in front of a downtown Toronto nightclub on Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue. Multiple shots were fired and the suspects escaped in a black SUV with tinted windows.
