Big Bang member Daesung has officially left YG Entertainment after 16 years, according to a Soompi story. Daesung will remain a member of Big Bang even if his contract with YG Entertainment has expired.
The K-pop artist “is seeking a fresh start,” according to YG Entertainment on Monday, December 26.
“Daesung’s status as a Big Bang member has not altered. We are always willing to work with Daesung and support his decision and a fresh start, according to YG Entertainment.
On the same day, Taeyang, another member of Big Bang, joined YG affiliate THEBLACKLABEL when his contract with YG ended. He continues to be a member of the group, just like Daesung.
Additionally, the agency had stated that talks to extend G-contract Dragon’s were still going on.
Following the end of his contract in February, another member T.O.P. also quit the organization to concentrate on his career as an artist and business owner. He continues to be a member of the Big Bang, just like the rest.
Big Bang debuted in August 2006 as a five-piece ensemble. The band is well-known for their singles “BANG BANG BANG,” “Fantastic Baby,” and “Loser,” among others. In 2016, MADE, their most recent album, was released.
With the release of their brand-new single “Still Life” in April, the K-pop veterans finally made their long-awaited return. Since the release of their digital single “Flower Road” in March 2018, Big Bang’s first collective release was “Still Life.”
Seungri quit the group and retired from show business since then, and the other members—G-Dragon, T.O.P., Taeyang, and Daesung—have all completed their conscription-required military duty.
