City Councilmember Shaun Abreu, the bill’s sponsor, emphasized the importance of making good habits easily adoptable by providing this convenience to the public. This initiative follows a similar rule implemented earlier at the U.S. Open, where attendees were allowed to bring reusable water bottles and refill them at on-site stations in the stadium.
The expectation is that this change will be positively received across the various stadiums and arenas in New York City, offering attendees the convenience of staying hydrated without the need to purchase single-use plastic bottles.
