Us Weekly has confirmed that Cole Tucker and Vanessa Hudgens are engaged after almost three years of dating.
Tucker, 26, proposed to Hudgens, 34, before the New Year, according to TMZ, who was the first to reveal the news on Thursday, February 2
On January 2020, Us Weekly announced in exclusive detail Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler had ended their nine-year relationship. Less than a year later, in November 2020, the Disney alum and Tucker ignited relationship suspicions when they were seen holding hands in Los Angeles.
After announcing her new relationship, Hudgens said on a May 2021 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, “If I want something or someone, I’m going after them. I simply snuck into his direct message and said, “‘Hey, it was nice to meet you.’ So I think there is no shame in making the first move.”
“We’d been together for so long and she had this sort of clairvoyant moment and so I really, I owe her a lot for believing in me,” the Golden Globe winner and current Oscar nominee said.
Six months later, at the premiere of Jonathan Larson’s Tick, Tick… Boom!, a musical film adaption in which Hudgens co-starred with Andrew Garfield, Alexandra Shipp, Robin de Jesus, and Joshua Henry, the couple made their formal red carpet debut.
Hudgens may be preoccupied with wedding preparations in the next weeks and months, but at least one of her ex-boyfriends still owes her for significant recent changes in his life. Austin Butler, who dated the celebrity for almost ten years between 2011 and 2020, said in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times that she encouraged him to try out for the lead part in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis.
